How to arrange your police interview for mixed marriage in Morocco

After your file has been submitted to the court to begin the process for finalizing your mixed marriage in Morocco the court will provide you or your adoul with a letter which you will take to the local police station to book an interview.

The court usually issue this letter of request for police interview 2 or 3 days after you or your adoul submitted the file to the court requesting marriage.

The quickest way to get this letter to take to the police station is to visit the court yourself and ask the office if it’s ready. They will either provide it to you or will advise when you should come back to the court to pick it up.

Once you have obtained this letter you go directly to the local police station and ask to make an appointment for your police interview.

Please note that not everything is universal in Morocco when it comes to getting married. Your adoul will advise you of how to obtain the letter needed to take with you to the police if it is any different from what we have described here.

When will I have my Police Interview?

Once you have obtained the letter from the court requesting the police interview you can go directly to the local police station and ask to make an appointment for your police interview.

They may be able to do the interview then and there on the spot when you go to the police station otherwise they will advise a date and time for you to return for the interview. This is usually scheduled quickly so it may only be a day or 2 when you’re asked to come back for the interview.

Will my Moroccan Partner be with me in the Police Interview?

Absolutely Yes! You and your partner will be able to go together to the interview. The police will be talking with both of you together.

If the police officer you have the interview speaks good English it will be in English. However not all police in Morocco are fluent in English. So if you do not speak French or Arabic your partner will be able to translate what you are saying or the police may use modern technology like Google Translate using voice to have the conversation with you. Either way their will be a solution on the day!

The first thing I want to metnion is relax! This is not the type of interiew you need to be anxoous or worried about! This interview is more of a friendly chat.

Some of the questions they may ask include;
