Dutch nationals who are planning to marry a Moroccan citizen in Morocco must prepare the following documents before you come to Morocco
It is solely your responsibility to ensure that all necessary papers you bring from your country are correct. Marriage in Morocco shall not assume any responsibility or liability for the adoul’s requirements or any legal implications arising from the use of your documents.
While we have compiled a list of standard documents typically required for foreigners getting married in Morocco, it’s crucial to recognize that the requirements may vary depending on the city you will get married. Birth Certificate
Obtain a multilingual international extract of your birth certificate from the municipality office where you were born.
The Birth certificate should be requested in either English or French.
Certificate of Conduct (VOG)
It is necessary to acquire your “certificate of conduct (VOG)” from the municipal authorities in your area. This certificate needs to be provided in either French or English.
Letter of Employment
You need to acquire a letter of employment from your employer, which should be composed on their official letterhead. This letter should contain crucial information about your job, including your start date, job title, annual salary or hourly pay rate, and it must bear a signature. Kindly request the letter to be provided in either English or French.
Certificate of Capacity to marry
You must apply for a certificate of capacity to marry ( verklaring van huwelijksbevoegdheid ) from the municipality where you live or where you were last registered when you lived in the Netherlands.
Prior to arriving in Morocco, it is essential to acquire this document in order to get married in Morocco.

Dutch to English/French Translations
In order to facilitate the process of getting married in Morocco, it is necessary to have all your documents translated into Arabic by a translator certified by a Moroccan court. We are able to provide this service for you.
However, it is important to note that in Morocco, there are no court certified translators available for translating documents from Dutch. Only translations from English, French, Spanish, and German are accepted. Therefore, if any of your documents are in Dutch, it is necessary to have them translated into either English or French by an accredited sworn translator in the Netherlands.
Once your documents are translated into English or French, you can then submit them to us for the Moroccan court certified Arabic translations.
